These are some of the questions that will be elucidated when Danish-Chinese Association on September 14 invites professor emeritus Stig Thøgersen from University of Aarhus and Lisa Johansen from LearnForLife.dk to a seminar.
The seminar takes place on September 14, at 19:30 - 21:30 in Forsamlinghus, Onkel Dannys Plads 5, 1711 Copenhagen V.
Discussion of a current topic
In recent years, Chinese education experts, parents and the authorities have been strongly preoccupied discussing children, upbringing and education: How does child rearing and education influence on social inequality? What is the definition of a good childhood? How to make your child master life and capable of coping in a world with new challenges and expectations.
In his presentation, Stig Thøgersen will sketch out some of the debates and discuss how different players' views on children, upbringing and education reflect their visions for the future of China.
Experiences from Chinese pedagogues on educational visit to Denmark
Through her work within the association LearnForLife.dk, Lisa Johansen has during the last 4 years gained experience by executing study visits to Denmark by Chinese pedagogues and educators, as well as online forums run by Chinese education experts who are working to reform the approach to pedagogy and learning. Parents and educators want the best for their children - both in Denmark and in China. But what is good in one place is not necessarily good in another. It is culturally and socially determined. Lisa will talk about differences and similarities and what we can learn from each other.
