Information Meeting 2026: Danish Pedagogues Three Weeks in a Chinese Kindergarten
Are you a qualified early childhood educator with the interest and opportunity to spend three weeks in China? If so, you are warmly invited to attend an information meeting at Nordfyns Folk High School on 18 January 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
Learn For Life, in collaboration with our partner organisation in China, offers a programme in which Danish educators take part in the daily life of a Chinese kindergarten, and participate in daily activities together with children and educators. The Chinese organisers and kindergartens are keen to learn more about Danish early childhood pedagogy. While the culture-and pedagogy exchange placement is unpaid, travel to and accommodation in China are fully covered. Participants are responsible only for personal expenses and insurance.
Personal and Professional Development
Through active participation in play and everyday routines in the Chinese kindergarten, Danish educators will naturally demonstrate Danish perspectives on childhood and pedagogy in practice. At the same time, the programme offers a reciprocal exchange of ideas and experiences between Danish and Chinese educators, fostering inspiration, reflection, and deeper insight into one’s own professional practice for all involved.
Seven educators participated in the programme for the first time in 2025, and all report that the experience was truly life-changing.
Ready for Challenges and New Experiences
If you wish to travel to China and share Danish early childhood pedagogy, it is essential that you possess a strong professional and personal foundation. The programme is intensive, and three demanding yet rewarding weeks lie ahead. You will encounter many new people and pedagogical approaches, as well as high expectations regarding what others can learn from you. All communication takes place in English—often with the support of an interpreter and through non-verbal communication.
Expectations of Participants
As a participant in the programme, you are expected to:
• Bring pedagogical inspiration, both in theory and in practice.
• Through play and engagement with children and educators, exemplify Danish pedagogical principles and the Danish approach to children and childhood
• Facilitate “saloons” in which you present pedagogical topics to educators and parents, answering questions, and fostering dialogue.
